J-Mack - Search You Out

Here is the story behind "Search You Out" along with the lyrics...

Story:
I was on my honeymoon with my wife in Mexico just relaxing in our hotel room reading Psalm 36 early in the morning. Specifically, I kept reading over verses 8-9. They say this, "They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house: And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life: In Your light we see light." Pause and think about that for a second... or maybe I should just say this...selah! I was so stirred up with hunger and passion for God after reading this chapter in Psalms that I just wanted more and more of God! I started to hear a song arising in my mind and the words were the chorus of the song "Search You Out." I literally sang that melody the rest of the week with my wife. I truly do want to search out the Lord all of my days. I want to know His ways! My heart can't help but sing this song. Come and drink from His river of delights. Jesus said He is the "Life," so come and drink from the fountain of life! The Lord's love is glorious and compels me to share His love with others. Have you experienced the love of God before? If not... Open your heart to Jesus and get ready! God is love. Jesus came to show us the Father. Look at the life of Jesus in the Gospels and realize your looking at the human Face of God. He is what you were made for! Search Him out!

Lyrics:
(Chorus)
I wanna search you out O Lord all day; I wanna search you out - I wanna know Your ways
(Verse 1)
I wanna search you out; I wanna know your ways; I wanna know you Lord in the most intimate ways; better is just a day; than thousands elsewhere ; in the presence of a King; I adore Him and I sing; when I'm in your presence; I loose track of time; when I'm out of your presence; I wanna press rewind; wondering why you chose me; it doesn't make no sense; Thank you Jesus please rinse; me just like a sponge; pour me out like an offering and I'll run; straight towards the Cross by grace steady; I'm fixed on your Face ready - to take on whatever bring it on; I'm heavy like a weight in a ring ali with rhymes like lodi dodi I don't need bacardi; sip sip water water living living hotter hotter
Take my heart Abba Abba You can reign Father Father
(Verse 2)
They told me I would loose my passion; Just Stay in like the Radison; you won't make any cash son; you gonna burn out like ash son; but with all this harassment; I am moved by compassion; and when I look at His Person; I'm stuck like apprehensionnn; I see the cross and I can't help but realize; I gotta live my life with no compromise; I wanna finish the race and get my prize; hearing well done from my Daddy I arrive; into my Father's house where there are many rooms; I will fly away just like a balloon ; you won't know the time morning night or afternoon; get with Christ because He is coming back very soon
(Verse 3)
I'm like better is one day in your courts; just one day in Your house; ew I'm so in love; You make me wanna shout; I give you all the praise; O Ancient of Days; matchless in Your ways; it's Your Name I raise; just to spread Your love; this is my desire; I wanna be with you where You are; will You take me higher?; I drop the walls around my heart I surrender; like the walls of Jericho I'm like ti-mber; you can have all of me come and dwell in my domain; shower me with your goodness I wanna be under your rain; I've searched for other loves and I always come to this; this is what I'm singing lost in Your divine bliss; I wanna search you out; I wanna know Your ways; I gotta have more of You like everyday; until my hairs are grey; celebratin like a holiday

Whatever You Behold... You Become Like It!

A couple of weeks ago, I was working out with my wife in my apartments workout facility. They have TV's in there and my eyes were drawn to a music station. Out of all the other stations - for some reason my eyes were just naturally drawn there. It was almost as if there was a force or something behind the station saying, “look.” I watched for a couple of seconds not even thinking and what I saw was lifeless. What I saw was Godless. I was grieved by what I saw but to add to that...They quickly zoomed in on teenage girls and their reactions to what was happening on this show. They were laughing, joking, and having a blast as if nothing was wrong with what was happening. I was quickly disgusted, turned my eyes away, and went back to lifting weights in a part of the room where the TV's were not in view. What was on that screen was completely Godless. I’m not saying TV is evil… or anything of that nature. But, I will say boldly, what was on was not in any way glorifying to the God who created us. In fact it was the opposite. I started to cry out for this generation - "oh God, help this generation, help this generation Lord!" I use to watch all the music stations on television and I remembered all the filth that was on them (I'm not saying they are all evil or everything is bad on them - but when you match up what is shown with God's Word... well you will get your answer!) I was grieved because of all the signals they send this generation that are just completely Godless and a mockery of who He is and His perfect Word. I then looked at the people in the gym and every single one of them had stopped working out and were gazing at the television station... watching...stuck in a daze. They were beholding the filth on TV. At that moment, the Lord spoke to me and said this - "whatever you behold, you become like it." Wow! I was moved in my heart for this generation. Almost in tears, I started to really think about what God spoke. I began to think about people who listen to hip hop and rap or indulge themselves in the hip hop culture - watch the videos, know every word to the hottest song out... think about it - their lifestyle usually will reflect those things in some way - whether it's the way they dress, what they say, the way they treat women, wanting to party or indulge in a life of pre maritial sex, girls wanting to shake their bodies at parties completely disrespecting themselves, girls showing much skin in the way they dress, experimenting with drugs and alcohol etc. Let's take a popular band on TV for instance. Someone who loves the band naturally will follow them, dress like them, wear their t-shirts, etc. If the band comes in town – they will blow there whole allowance just to go and behold this band. I declare to you boldly right now – You were made to BEHOLD THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD. If you make the choice to settle for less than this (which it is what you were created for – to behold Him and therefore be more like Him) then you will always be dissatisfied in life. You can live apart from God and go your own way, but Scripture says this – sin (living apart from God) is pleasurable for only a short season…. Then what? When you behold His beauty or who He is, you become more like Him. Are you gazing upon His Word? Are you beholding the face of Jesus? Are you beholding His Truth? Whatever you behold, you become like it! What are you beholding?

Below are some verses… take a couple minutes of your day to be with the Lord! It will be well worth your time!

Psalm 27:4 – “One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to BEHOLD the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.”

Psalm 11:7 – “For the Lord is righteous, He loves righteousness; the upright will behold His face.”
--This is what behold means in Hebrew - 2372 – chazah (khaw-zaw) – to gaze at; mentally to perceive, contemplate (with pleasure); to have a vision of: behold, look, prophesy, provide, see

We were meant to gaze upon the beauty of Jesus! We were meant to see Him! We were meant to behold Jesus. We were meant to mentally perceive Jesus. We were meant to contemplate His nature and His very essence with pleasure. We are meant to see Him in visions. We were meant to behold, look at, and see Jesus face to face! Whatever you behold you become like it. What are you beholding?

Matthew 5:8 – “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

The Word pure here simply means clear or clean. The word see in the Greek means, “to gaze at with wide open eyes as at something remarkable.”

Is your heart choked by the things of this world? All it takes is a simple yes or yield to God with your heart. This is the act of repentance – turning your heart to God and changing your mind or the way you think! Turn to God and be truly satisfied! Is your heart pure before Him or are there tons of things that come way before God in your heart? Shouldn’t your Creator have first place in your life? You choose. I choose to do my best to keep a pure heart before God… the reason is this… I WANT TO SEE HIM!
